Privacy policy
BM Silo ApS (company reg. no. 83891211), Morrevej 7, Tvis, 7500 Holstebro, is the data controller for personal data processed in the webshop. Here you can read what we collect, why, and what rights you have.
1. Data controller
BM Silo ApS, Morrevej 7, Tvis, DK-7500 Holstebro, Denmark, company registration no. 83891211, is the data controller for the personal data processed in the webshop. Questions about personal data can be sent to shop@bmsilo.com.
2. What we collect (orders, account, VAT lookup)
When you create a business account or place an order, we record company name, VAT/company registration number, contact person, e-mail, phone number, delivery and billing address, and your orders, quotes and enquiries. VAT numbers may be checked against public registers such as the EU's VIES.
When you use the shop we also process technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages you visit – see sections 5 and 6 for when this requires your consent.
3. Purposes & legal basis
We process the data to handle and deliver your order, create and administer your account, send order and delivery messages, provide support and comply with accounting and tax law.
The legal basis is performance of the contract with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), our legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)) and our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving the webshop (Article 6(1)(f)). Statistics and marketing cookies are used only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a)).
4. Payment data
Card payments are handled by our payment provider (OnPay) and card acquirer (Clearhaus). Card details are entered directly with the payment provider and are never stored by BM Silo – we only receive confirmation that the payment went through, plus the last four digits of the card number for reconciliation.
For payment by invoice we process the data needed for invoicing, payment registration and bookkeeping.
5. IP-based country detection
If you accept all cookies, we look up your country from your IP address with an external service (ipapi.co) so we can suggest delivery country and currency and show freight correctly. If you accept necessary cookies only, you pick the country yourself at the top of the page. If you choose "use my precise location", your browser's geolocation and an address lookup service (BigDataCloud) are used to fill in the postcode. Your choice is stored only locally in your browser and can be changed at any time.
6. Analytics (PostHog EU) & marketing
With your consent we use PostHog, hosted in the EU, to understand how the shop is used, and Google Tag Manager to enable ad measurement from Google, Meta and LinkedIn. Without consent none of these cookies are set. Read more in our cookie policy.
We only send newsletters and marketing by e-mail if you have signed up, and you can unsubscribe in every e-mail.
7. Recipients & processors (carriers, payment, hosting)
We share data only with those who need it to deliver your order: carriers and our shipping system (name, address, phone and e-mail for delivery and tracking), the payment provider and card acquirer, our webshop platform and its hosting provider, e-mail and accounting systems, and auditors and authorities where the law requires it. Processors are bound by data processing agreements and may only process the data on our instructions.
If data is transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA, it is done on the basis of the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an equivalent transfer mechanism.
8. Retention
Order and invoice data is kept for 5 years after the end of the financial year it relates to, as required by the Danish Bookkeeping Act. Account data is kept while the account is active and deleted when you ask us to, unless we are obliged to retain it. Enquiries that do not lead to an order are deleted when the matter is closed.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access the data we process about you and to have it corrected or deleted. You can ask us to restrict processing, object to it, and receive the data you have given us in a structured format. Consent can always be withdrawn with effect for the future. Write to shop@bmsilo.com and we reply without undue delay.
10. Contact & complaints
